HUGETSU Ramen & Tsukemen – A Solid Katsu Curry Spot Near St. Paul’s If you work around St. Paul’s and are looking for a quick lunch or a more relaxed dinner, SHUGETSU Ramen & Tsukemen is worth a visit. Main We went for their Classic Chicken Katsu Curry with Slow-Cooked Chicken, plus extra Flavoured Egg, Grilled Pork Belly, and Edamame on the side. Chicken Katsu Curry – Honestly, one of the better katsu curries in London. What makes it stand out is the option to add slow-cooked chicken, something you don’t often see paired with katsu. The curry itself leans towards a milder, non-spicy style, which might not be everyone’s preference, but the slow-cooked chicken is tender, juicy, and worth trying. Flavoured Egg – Nicely cooked with a rich, seasoned yolk. Grilled Pork Belly – Tender, not overcooked, and no burnt edges—definitely a plus. Edamame – This time, not their best. The colour looked a bit off, which made it less appetising compared to other restaurant. Final Thoughts A solid spot for a satisfying katsu curry with some unique touches. If you like milder curry and want the bonus of slow-cooked chicken, this is a great choice in the St. Paul’s area. For sides, the pork belly and flavoured egg are hits—just hope the edamame looks fresher next time.
