I have read other peoples 4 star reviews. I am sorry but my party of 4 did not experience a 4 star service. A celebration for my cousins 60th turned into a fiasco! Staff seemed confused and disinterested in serving us. The 4 of us were seated at a tiny table which was not big enough for all three platters (2 classic and 1 gluten free) and teapots, glasses, cutlery. As an avid afternoon tea Oscars was a complete disappointment. Sandwich fillings were boring, boring, boring and so sparingly filled. Cakes were also boring boring, boring nothing at all indulgent. We were told that additional sandwiches would come at a cost! A first, I have never ever been told this at an afternoon tea experience! The indulge afternoon tea offered up weak alcoholic cocktail’s and the abstain gave a couple of tasteless and weird combination mocktails. The whole point of afternoon tea is to drink a variety of teas. At Oscar’s you have to stay with your first choice of tea. Oscars is more of a bistro than a place to indulge in an afternoon tea - they are not there yet! There are far better and lovelier places in London for afternoon teas. Oscars was disappointing.

My friend and I had a lovely afternoon tea. She had her 5 month old daughter with her, who she’s breastfeeding. The staff were exceptionally caring, making sure she was comfortable without making a scene. She felt very respected and valued. Our food was delicious and the environment was perfect. Beautifully cool on a hot summers day. I really would recommend anyone book for food or drinks at Oscars, they were excellent. Thank you for making us feel so very welcome.

We came to the bar for a nightcap. We were given an table and told that they were taking last orders, perfect for us as we only wanted the one drink. Drinks took a while to arrive, and then at midnight we were asked to leave, mid drink. I understand the bar closes at midnight but we weren't given any sort of warning, especially given that the staff took our order in the first place. We got a couple of curt "it's not our problem" type responses from two members of staff. I think if you're able to take an order and then also take your time in actually delivering it, you need to allow people time to enjoy it too.
