London is a melting pot of many cultures, and the Lebanese-Syrian community found their social spot in the industrial area of Park Royal. A place unfortunately most tourists would avoid when they visit London. Due to a series of events we ended up in this area, and decided to acquainte our children with the Lebanese-Syrian kitchen at Hamadia Restaurant. The restaurant is a true mystery: Its location is even hidden for streetview. But in an alley, between two food distributers, lies this hidden gem. Its tarp roof, the atmospheric christmass lights, the flowers, and the screens with Arab pop music reminded us of various restaurants in Aleppo. The owner was surprised to see some Dutch tourists at his doorstep, but he warmly welcomed us. While serving the delicious fresh fruit juices and tea, the staff thanked ús for visiting the place. We decided to order a mixture of their cold and warm starters: Baba Ghanoush, Hummus, Kibbeh, Falafel, Halloumi... It all tasted delicious. If you ever end up in Park Royal, you will definately find a warm welcome here. And on your way back, don't forget to drop by Shamsin Bakery for some pastry.
