Not your typical Chinese restaurant as it serves up delicate, savoury dishes from Hainan. We’ve been here a few times and always appreciated the warm service from the front of house (didn’t catch his name but he made the extra effort to make sure we felt welcomed so thank you!). Very clean place, food was homely and delicious, never over-salted and on point in terms of price. Do order the chicken rice, poached poussin - ask for ginger garlic sauce or fermented chilli sauce! We look forward to come back again to try other items!

The restaurant is clean and modern yet homely at the same time. Very friendly welcome upon arrival. The lunch deal is a steal. Both the mains and the side dishes are very unique and very delicious. We ordered 2 set meals and a couple of extra small plates to share between 2 adults and a toddler. We left feeling just the right amount of fullness and very satisfied with the flavour profiles of the dishes which are all well-thought-out and balanced. Our favourites were the crispy whitebait with a (very) spicy habanero ketchup and the soft moist chicken accompanied by deliciously savoury chickeny, garlicky rice. The food tastes homely- BIG on flavour and low on overly greasy oiliness. It’s food that feels nourishing with the added bonus of tasting really good. Their house lemon tea is also very fresh and unlike standard sugary lemon teas that are commercially sold. We didn’t order any mains from the a la carte dinner menu but they all sound/look very tasty. The service was exemplary. I don’t think I’ve ever left a restaurant raving about the service from the wait staff. Friendly, warm and welcoming, extremely knowledgeable about the restaurant’s food and its heritage, and perfectly attentive. Great recommendations on dishes were given without any hint of pushiness. The service was the perfect balance of professional and warmth. Do not hesitate to eat here. Any friends or family who find themselves in Islington will be recommended this restaurant.
