Solid stop on morning dog walks to the Heath. Quality coffee and pastries, good outdoor terrace vibe for summer weekday and weekend mornings. Sometimes, we'll have a croissant here and then pain au choco at the Gail's up in Highgate, just because why not? Cheers to Gail's. ☕️ 🥐

I'm a fan of Gails, their pastries, breads and coffees. They are pricy, but you can usually count on quality if you want to treat yourself. However, today I ordered a new offering at Gails, a Pastrami Rachel sandwich which was all but inedible. It was swimming in Russian dressing which had soaked through the bread making it soggy, it was light on sauerkraut and the pastrami was gristly, chewy, fatty and utterly inedible. The one potentially nice thing was the bread it was served on but, sadly, the soupy mayonnaise had soaked through and destroyed the bread. I also ordered a coffee and a piece of cake which was delicious, I always enjoy the atmosphere and sitting in Gails. I love Gails, but some of their offerings are too fatty and this sandwich was inedible.
