Nice rustic look with tables outside and extra seating upstairs. They had a large and lovely looking selection of pastries, though there was no signage to say what any of them were. Service felt rushed and a bit impersonal. I asked how the servers were and just got a one-word “good” with no reciprocation. I ordered an oat cappuccino – they didn’t ask if it was for takeaway or sit-in, just quickly tapped it on the till and walked off. I sat down hoping it might come in a proper cup, but the server ran out to me with a 12oz takeaway cup, handed it over, and ran back inside. The coffee itself was weak and tasteless – all I could pick up was the oat milk, with no coffee flavour coming through. I’d still take that over burnt coffee, which is so commonplace, but it wasn’t great either. The milk was steamed a bit too hot for my liking and was a bit of a shock. I suspect the coffee might have been nicer as a shorter drink in one of their sit-in mugs and it looks like the cappuccino cups were smaller than the takeaway cups. Overall, it felt like the focus was on moving people through rather than offering a proper specialty coffee experience.

Pain au chocolat and pistachio croissant were excellent. The mocha and matcha were decent. Would come back if we were in a rush.
