🥢 Bugis Kitchen – Authentic Southeast Asian Dining in Kensington Tucked inside the Copthorne Tara Hotel, Bugis Kitchen delivers a calm, elegant space paired with authentic Singaporean and Malaysian dishes — and they do it right. 👉 Follow @cravetrellblogger on Instagram for more honest food reviews, hidden gems, and flavour-packed finds across London. We went for the 3-course set menu (£30.88) and here’s how the journey unfolded: ⸻ 🥗 Starters Asian Green Papaya Salad This was refreshing with a kick. Thinly shredded green papaya tossed in a dressing that hit every note — sweet, sour, salty, and spicy — with the crunch of peanuts and the sharpness of lime making each bite super lively. A great palate-opener! Salt & Pepper Prawns These were absolutely on point. The prawns were juicy inside with a delicate crispy coating, wok-fried with garlic and fresh chilli that gave them a fiery edge. The salt and pepper seasoning wasn’t overpowering — just enough to keep you reaching for the next piece. ⸻ 🍛 Mains Nasi Goreng A true comfort dish, this Indonesian-style fried rice was fragrant, slightly smoky, and full of texture. It came topped with a beautifully fried egg, satay chicken skewers on the side, crispy crackers for crunch, and a rich peanut sauce that tied everything together. Every bite had something different — savoury, nutty, spicy. So satisfying. Sweet & Sour Chicken Golden-fried chicken pieces were tossed in a glossy, tangy sauce, but what made it special was the freshness — chunks of pineapple, crisp bell peppers, and onions gave it bite and brightness. Not your average takeaway-style version — this had real balance. ⸻ 🍨 Desserts Golden Banana Fritters with Ice Cream (v) This was comfort in dessert form. The bananas were caramelised inside a thin, crispy batter, warm and slightly gooey — paired with vanilla ice cream that melted into the crunch. A perfect contrast of hot and cold, crispy and creamy. Mango & Passion Fruit Cheesecake Visually stunning, and the flavour matched. A light, creamy cheesecake with tropical mango and passion fruit swirls, set on a buttery biscuit base. Bright, fruity, and not overly sweet — it ended the meal beautifully. ⸻ From the peaceful atmosphere to the attentive service, Bugis Kitchen gave us an experience that felt both elegant and authentic. 📍 Bugis Kitchen, Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington, London 👉 Follow @cravetrellblogger on Instagram for more honest food reviews, hidden gems, and flavour-packed finds across London.

Very delicious. Would come again. Had the laksa which was a large portion, and very full of noodles, shrimp, egg and fishcake, nicely spicy. Friend loved the Hainan chicken.
