We brought our daughter on Tuesday as we were staying in London for a hospital appointment the next day. We ordered the platter to share and asked for no pickles. She assured me they wouldn’t be on the food, just on the side. I repeated that I didn’t want them at all. She asked if I was allergic, and I said no—I just don’t like them anywhere near my food. She said she understood, so I thought that was sorted. Unfortunately, the food came out with the pickles perched on the side, even though I’d been clear about not wanting them on the platter at all. I pointed it out and asked for a plate so my husband could move them for me. There was no real acknowledgement of the mistake, which was disappointing. That being said, the food was delicious and all three of us really enjoyed it. We’d happily come back—hopefully without another round of “picklegate”!
