Pricey but amazing food and great service. Very cozy atmosphere. Have been there a couple of times and will get back when in London again.

Truly disappointing. I had heard so much about this little basement wine bar/restaurant and had really looked forward to my visit. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. The portion sizes were minute, even by tapas standards and the service was downright dismal. Perhaps I was unlucky. Perhaps I chose a bad night. Whatever, I won't be returning.

I’ve been to Church Row on many occasions and really enjoy the lovely atmosphere and excellent wine selection. The food is well prepared, but given the price, I feel some dishes are dated and could benefit from more finesse - some flavour combinations, like ripe strawberries with asparagus, felt a bit confused (and a particular salad - I think Rocket - used in every dish). Recently, I visited without a reservation for an impromptu celebration and asked for a table for drinks. I was told they couldn’t serve alcohol without food, which was fine. Our initial order was around £60 for two glasses of champagne and some tapas (olives, charcuterie, prawns, etc). However, before we finished our drinks, the plates were cleared, and when we tried to order a glass of wine, the waiter said we needed to order more food - at least two additional dishes, meaning another £50+. Despite explaining that we could have ordered more wine while we were eating (literally one minute before the plates were cleared), the the staff stuck to their policy, which was disappointing and ultimately spoiled the night. Church Row is a great spot for atmosphere and wine, but the strict food-and-drink policy and the rushed clearing of plates and blatent upsell detracted from the experience.
