Easily my favourite pub. A beautiful building, without hideous modern decoration, old and cosy. But mainly, the friendliest bar staff and management. The pub is in safe hands with Terry, super kind and welcoming. We all love David, Josh, Saul and Co. This is my go-to pub and the go-to pub of any event / party I throw. The sacred spot of my beloved Average Joe's quiz team. Love it all, just perfect.

A good little pub and a nice find given it’s quite some way from the Harvey’s part of the world. They have a great selection of Harvey’s ales all at reasonable prices too. The pub can get quite cramped and busy as it’s quite small and tight. The main thing I’d change is the harsh lighting. Something softer would be nicer. You can’t complain in having something a bit different though that’s not part of the usual central and inner London chains. Solid 4/5. Minus a star of late. The odd barman with a beard and tied back hair is very hostile and just a bit rude. It’s a really strange experience in there now when that chap is serving. Anything that is slightly different on a drinks order or if you ask for a sample breeds rudeness and hostility. Hopefully they get a new guvnor soon. This bloke isn’t the one. No wonder it’s been empty of late. The ales here are top notch and there’s a great Harvey’s range. I doubt this Lewes staple knows its reputation is being dragged through the dirt by one twit in south London.
