Me and my wife came here for a some drinks, karaoke and to play crazy pool. My wife has recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease which means she can’t eat gluten, even some alcohols contain gluten so even having a night out can be challenging and lot of planning has to go into it. Honestly all the staff at the London venue in St Mary Axe/Aldgate were amazing. When we arrived we was greeted with friendly staff and went straight to the bar to get some drinks before our game. We told the bar tender about my wife’s coeliac and asked him if he knew if there was any gluten in the alcohols used in the cocktail and when he checked and was unsure we asked if we could scan the barcode of the bottle to see if it contains gluten which he was more then happy to do so, which was so helpful. Later on after our game of crazy pool which was super fun we decide to get some food before karaoke later on. Roxy’s do gluten free pizzas but my wife has never been a fan of any gluten free pizzas, so we asked the lady at the bar if there chips were gluten free, she radioed to the kitchen to ask if there chips were gluten free, if they were cooked in a separate fryer and if the seasoning was gluten free. She was extremely cautious through the whole process because she said she has family with allergies, she also double checked with her manager as well as I think she said she was fairly new there. The manager sat down with us to explain that they could not guarantee of cross contamination but if we would still like to order the fries they will do everything they can to make it safe for my wife to eat. My wife’s food took a bit longer to come out than mine but they were cleaning the kitchen down to make sure they prepared her food as safely as possible, Which is extremely appreciated. Typically even being this cautious still can lead to cross contamination but thankfully thanks to all the staff here my wife was completely fine. We spoke with the manager before left and expressed how much we appreciated all the effort they went to tonight to make my wife feel normal, from the dedication of our dietary needs to all the friendly staff and she even told us that some of her family have coeliac so she completely understood how serious it was to make her food safely to eat. Honestly amazing place for a fun activity filled night and with even more amazing staff, we will definitely be coming back here. Thank you all again for an amazing night.
