Magnífico museo egipcio, con la mejor colección de este tipo de un instituto de Egiptología en toda Alemania. Las piezas están muy bien expuestas. Su rango es muy rico y diverso, desde las más humildes cerámicas a estatuas, joyas, reconstrucciones y maquetas. Debe destacarse la exposición del almacén, que permite hacerse una idea excelente de muchos tipos de artefactos, y de los borradores sobre cerámica y caliza (ostraca).
