About

In the vibrant old town of Heidelberg, Heiliggeistkirche stands as a striking example of Gothic architecture. Constructed with distinctive red sandstone, this Evangelical Lutheran church has watched over the market square since 1398, even emerging unscathed from World War II. Visitors are often captivated by its contemporary stained glass windows, which bring a modern touch to its centuries-old interior. Historically significant, the church's doors are renowned as the spot where Martin Luther famously nailed his thesis. Rated 4.5 on Google, this accessible attraction invites all to explore its rich past and architectural beauty.
