Every time I go to the Ashmolean, its a joy. Brilliant museum that is free entry. I recently went with family and can say it's great for kids. So many things are really well thought out - for example, having a family room where you can sit and eat your own packed lunches. Cleaning equipment was provided and clearly labelled so we could leave the space clean for the next group. There's even a drinking water tap and kettle. The activity trails for kids are brilliant and fun for adults too. Staff were helpful and friendly. Having interactive things to do in the galleries, like UV light boxes and microscopes added interest for the kids and helped us appreciate the objects in a different light. Plus, having a seating area with colouring and drawing materials was perfect for giving the kids a break from walking round on tired feet. The collections are so varied, there's something for everyone.
