Amazing little place with absurdly tasty food in excellent portions at a fair price - we have always thoroughly enjoyed whenever we have visited. The owner is friendly and generous and makes us feel very welcome. Highly recommended!

My wife and i visited kawaneko around lunch time and we both thought the food was excellent and comparable to the food we've had in Tokyo. The food was cooked to perfection with the right quantity and balance of flavours and was well presented too. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places. We also really liked the selection of unique drinks on offer. The owner was friendly too and we will be sure to revisit soon. Thanks for a great experience 👍. My prediction is for kawaneko to be ranked number 1 on tripadvisor for edinburgh soon! Always consistently good food. Update 2025,still as good as the day I first came here. I've recommended more than 50 people to come here.
