I took WSET levels 1-3 with Carrie at the Edinburgh Local Wine School. I cannot recommend Carrie or the courses enough. I’m not in the wine trade, and initially took the WSET Level 1 course because I didn’t know a lot about wine – despite drinking a fair bit! – and wanted to gain some basic knowledge. I was hooked from there! Carrie is an engaging, incredibly knowledgeable teacher with an infectious enthusiasm for all things wine, and is great at explaining complex topics in a way that sticks in your brain. There is a good balance between theory and tasting on all of the courses, and they were a lot of fun as well as being a good challenge. Each group of students on every course was lovely – it was great to learn alongside a nice bunch of people who are all interested in wine. I also went along with some friends to a Christmas Crips and Wine pairing, which I would also highly recommend; it was a brilliant way of learning about food pairing as well as being a lot of fun.

An amazing time! We had a very accommodating host in all aspects that gave us gluten free crackers to accompany the wines. Wonderful wines and a great laugh during a very informative evening. It was such a grand time amongst friends and strangers to enjoy wine together. Highly recommended!
