Always loved it here as a tourist and now a resident. It's grungy and that's the way I like it. The music scene is excellent (rock, metal, blues, folk) but taste dictates the night. They've had some famous people play here, including Alice Cooper, Wendy James, etc, and continue to do so. It's an iconic venue and pub. If they did food, even basics like toasties, this place would clean up. The whisky selection is brilliant and the prices very good for Edinburgh. It also does one of the best Guinness's in the city I've had, this side of the UK, so far... The staff are amazing, nuts and wonderful, and the customers all friendly. It's like a second home to me.

Paramos a tomar una cerveza. Pub típico pequeño con dos salas de conciertos interiores que en ese momento estaban cerradas. Buena música rock.

Went here Friday night. Really great place, nice crowd & bar staff. Saw 3 live bands, Polar bears in Purgatory were my favourite. Will definitely go back if I'm in Edinburgh again.
