I love coming here as opposed to the likes of cineworld and odeon and is much cheaper with the u25 tickets on weekdays. The reclining seats are incredibly comfortable and the demographic of customers are a lot more respectful in being quiet and enjoying the film compared to other cinemas’ experiences I’ve had previously. Although I have only been on screen 1 (the biggest one) so I may have a nicer experience opposed to the other smaller screens that I’ve seen. Each time I’ve been it’s not been that busy and feels very comfortable as a solo goer. Negative stars for not screening films that are shown in other Picturehouse branches, they advertised certain films (like thunderbolts and others) in pre film trailers and on website but don’t show at my local branch which I found pretty disappointing. I appreciate that it is more targeted at smaller arty films but I was misled by advertising that they would show them. I also found the bathroom to be not very clean and in desperate need of updating. No complaints about staff as they are always extremely attentive and helpful.

I absolutely love going to this retro cinema! It feels like stepping into another era. They sometimes show classic movies and even filmed plays. The lovely wee bar inside the cinema building makes dates feel cozy and encourages great post-movie chats.

We love watching films at this retro cinema. Look out for their screenings of classics and cult films. We watched Apocalypse Now, directors cut, a few months ago and it was epic!
