The foundation of the Botanical Garden in Dresden dates back to 1820. The founder of the garden is the botanist Heinrich Reichenbach. He became the first director of the Botanical Garden and held this position until his demise.

Initially, the garden contained over 7,800 plant species and was divided into five greenhouses, the total area of which was just over 1,000 square meters.

In the 20th century, the Botanical Garden became part of Dresden University of Technology. It is now open to tourists and operates seven days a week, without any days off. Visitors can now enjoy not only flowering shrubs and an exquisite alpine garden but also view exotic carnivorous plants that survive by consuming insects.

Характерная черта Ботанического сада в Дрездене - его планировка по регионам. Здесь интересно понаблюдать за растениями-хищниками, которые поедают насекомых. Рассматривал цветущие кактусы, и все время ловил себя на мысли, что они попали сюда из другого измерения. Очень красивый альпийский сад и оранжерея пустынь.

無料で入れる植物園です。The Grand Garden公園側からも入れるゲートがありますが出口は正門一つだけです。小さなグリーンハウスもあり、さまざまな植物を楽しめます。植物の種類は多く、看板などもあるのですがあまり手入れされているようには見えませんし植物の間の隙間がたくさんあります。キッチンガーデンはトマトなどの野菜とハーブがあります。花盛りの時期のはずですがあまり花は咲いていませんでした。園内に日陰のピクニックエリアが数多くあります。中央駅からも近いのでドレスデン観光で時間が余ったら訪れるとよいと思います。
