Originally, it stood in the center of the square, and it was here where Princess Isabella was proclaimed Queen of Castile, becoming known as Isabella the Catholic — the Queen who changed the destiny of Spain and the Americas. Although its architecture may appear modest compared to other monuments in the city, the church holds immense symbolic value. Every visitor, especially those coming from the Americas, should take a moment here to reflect and honor Queen Isabella, who envisioned integrating the native peoples of the New World as full subjects of the Crown. A place small in appearance, yet monumental in historical significance.
