Norwegian Fish Set Menu
I tried the 3-course fish set menu. The starter was Skagen toast, served with prawns, roe, and egg mayonnaise. To be honest, it was more like bread than toast, served with a slice of tomato, cucumber, and lemon separately . The portion of prawns was generous and paired well with the bread.
For the main, I had a grilled fillet of trout, a traditional Norwegian dish. The fish was grilled perfectly — the skin was crispy, and the texture of the trout was firm and fresh. The mashed potato with butter and seasonal vegetables complemented it nicely.
The dessert, however, was a simple cheesecake. It was fine, but nothing memorable. If you’re a big fan of desserts, I’d suggest skipping the set menu and choosing a different dessert from the à la carte menu instead.
I was also impressed by the decor — the restaurant displayed all kinds of old items, from toys to paintings, which gave the place a unique and nostalgic charm.
