I visited the BMW Museum in Munich expecting an unforgettable experience, but honestly, it didn’t fully live up to my expectations. While the building’s futuristic architecture is impressive and the location next to the BMW Welt is convenient, the exhibition inside felt surprisingly small and not as immersive as I hoped. There were some beautiful classic BMW cars, motorcycles, and a few interesting concept vehicles, but the variety was limited and the storytelling lacked depth. What stood out to me is how quickly the tour was over – it simply didn’t have the same “wow” factor I’ve experienced in other German automotive museums. In comparison, the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and the Mercedes-Benz Museum offer much more engaging experiences, with richer historical context, interactive displays, and a larger collection of iconic vehicles. Those museums really make you feel part of the brand’s journey, while BMW’s felt more like a quick showcase. If you are a hardcore BMW fan, it’s still worth a visit, especially combined with BMW Welt across the street. However, if you’re visiting Munich for car-related attractions and can only choose one or two museums, I personally recommend prioritizing Porsche or Mercedes. For me, this visit was good, but far from outstanding – a solid 3 out of 5 stars.
