Went here after seeing travel videos featuring it on YouTube.
The architecture truly is amazing. There's the main room in the middle that's the most beautiful one and 2 more on either side of it that are nice, but not as impressive.
That being the case, the main room is packed and the only open seating we found was in one of the less pretty rooms off to the side.
It's nice that you don't have to go through the entire V&A museum to get access to the cafe, although we did go through a small part of the Buddhist section. I liked that, though, because we still got a taste of the museum.
We came around 1 hour to closing, 4pm, so there weren't long lines to get our food.
It's cafeteria style and the 2 stalls I saw facing each other were selling the same thing.
We got to try scones for the first time which I liked better than the mango & raspberry cake I also ordered which was too sweet.
The prices are reasonable. For 2 desserts and 2 drinks between 2 people it came to around $22 total, so around $11 each.
Even the bathroom was nice, but I noticed they made the majority of the stalls and sinks available to the public be the more modern ones while the really pretty old fashioned one only had a few stalls.
Afterwards, we wandered into the central courtyard and admired the architecture.
Overall, it was a good experience. Just don't expect to sit in the really pretty main room, which is why I went there in the first place and I'm sure many other people do, too.
