A real mix. The museum in general is pretty good. It has some interesting exhibits and there's a lot of knowledge to gleaned, but as others have pointed out it's steadily moving away from informative exhibitions towards displays geared toward children or those with low attention spans. Less info, more artsy presentation. The pirates exhibition i particular was a real disappointment. Half of it is posters and media about films and books involving pirates, the other half is lightweight info with some barely interactive media displays. In between they managed to crowbar in a lot of political stuff about "queering piracy", pictures of drag queens, and "challenging ideas of gender".
