Staff friendly and helpful and didn't need asking before they offered us help, which given all 3 of us use crutches or sticks is essential or coffee goes everywhere! The seasonal treats were appreciated, especially the glittery maltesers. Hot chocolate and coffee both good. Soya milk had apple in it though, which probably only affects me as I'm allergic to milk and apples, but it's why we more frequently go to M&S next door. 2022 Update: Costa now offer a variety of dairy alternatives including oat, coconut and soya milks and have changed their supplier. All the products I've seen or tried are sweetened with agave and contain no apple products so much better for me, plus the soya milk coffees now won't split or curdle. Iced coffees and Frappés are available for the summer. All Costa shops now sell some M&S food products. The variety isn't huge here or more to the point, the number of vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options are limited and I don't think there was anything vegan and GF. This Costa cafe now has shorter opening hours compared to the pre-pandemic days and there's no option to go next door as the M&S café shut down (it's now their flower area: I preferred the cakes!). The toilets have been changed to put keypad entry on all of them, which makes getting into the accessible toilet much much harder when you're trying to use both of your semi-functional hands to grapple with the lock and door and holding that open, making using mobility aids such as crutches or a manual wheelchair to actually move through the doorway and into the accessible bathroom very challenging. A radar key lock would be far more practical for most disabled people. So less accessible but still open at least. Staff still helpful and friendly despite personnel changes. Importantly, the coffee is good and significantly better than many other chains. Sept 2025 update: Very enjoyable coffee. At Google's insistence, I'm updating this but really I need a longer visit to give a complete report. Went for coffee and my coffee was very nice, made with oat milk, no signs of apple juice. Staff friendly and helpful. New allergy policy in place that requires a member of staff to go through the allergy folder with you and read out lots of stuff, which might be very helpful if your trigger is one of the designated common allergens, but really isn't if not and therefore none of the information is actually relevant to you, but the supervisor was obliged to go through it all anyway just because I had said the word allergy. Good to see it being taken seriously but I'm not sure how helpful this policy is? Would be good to hear from someone with a nut/sesame/celery/mustard/soy allergy about this. Car park was absolute chaos with a huge queue to get out, but on leaving, we realised that the traffic lights had failed at the exit, so hopefully it isn't always like that!
