A proper pub serving proper beer. The manager and staff are always friendly and welcoming and keep an excellent cellar of nice selections. There is none of this unpalatable craft rubbish that so many pubs seems to be jumping on the bandwagon to. Rev James is a traditional firm favourite and thankfully a permanent feature here, but there are other changeable selections to choose from that are well worth trying. Pub grub is also on the menu and if you want to stay and watch the sport, that is always an option. What I also like about this pub is the relaxed atmosphere and I always enjoy a pint or several after a stressful day in work to unwind. The music selection is also discerning and caters to us older clientele (who have better taste than the youngsters!) and at a level where you can talk and be heard. Plus it would be remiss of me not to mention the famous sloping floor....
