Jaffa in Freiburg is a treasure. Yes, it’s a little pricey — but worth every cent. The food is absolutely phenomenal: fresh, vibrant, and truly authentic Israeli cuisine. Each dish bursts with flavor and soul, transporting you straight to the streets of Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. But Jaffa is more than just great food. The story of why and how it was founded makes it deeply special — it’s a place born from a desire to share culture, to stand proudly against antisemitism, and to show that when we meet each other with respect and love, our cultures can not only coexist, but thrive together. Dining here isn’t just a culinary experience — it’s a reminder that food can build bridges, break down prejudice, and connect people in the most delicious way possible.

Geht man in TAv-Jaffa vom Basar nach rechts in Richtung Altstadt, gibt es ein Restaurant, in dem man nicht nur wunderbar essen, sondern auch das bunte Treiben beobachten kann. Und genau dahin fühlte ich mich zurückversetzt. Mit einem kleinen, aber feinen Unterschied: alle Gerichte, die man im Jaffa findet, sind perfektioniert. Der Streit, ob es das beste Hummus in Haifa, Tel Aviv oder Jerusalem gibt, ist entschieden: im Jaffa. Der Taboule-Salat, sonst häufig ziemlich petersilielastig, aufgepeppt mit etwas Zitrone - genial. Mein Highlight: der gebackene Blumenkohl. Es war eine Freude für Gaumen und Seele, dort Gast sein zu dürfen. Danke
