Alandas Gelato creates traditional Italian gelato in the heart of the Scotland capital. They have a large range of flavours in addition to flavoured cones, toppings and other extras. I got two scoops, including pistachio swirl and white chocolate, with a pistachio cream-dipped cone and two fudge sticks. I would say the gelato is very nice, but it isn’t the best I’ve ever had, and it isn’t cheap. For an order like mine you’re paying towards £10, which I think is highly overpriced. It gets very busy (not just at peak times) and you’ll often be queueing for at least 10 minutes, though they run their business efficiently and have a very high throughput system (separate counter to pay and get a ticket, two serving counters). Overall it’s worth a visit every now and then, but you can get better value elsewhere
