I was visiting a local friend, whilst holidaying from Australia. I really enjoy craft beers having a fondness for strong ales. We walked from his place for a catch up, before dinner, over a few beers and then an enjoyable walk back. Sadly, the bloke behind the bar seemed to have had other ideas. He appeared to take exception to me buying three pints in succession, as the second had been a strong beer. I explained to him that we both walked to the pub and that I still had my physical and mental faculties, but he insisted that he would only sell me the third (a second strong ale) as a half pint. Given that I had only had two pints prior, I thought it very odd. I am all for responsible serving of alcohol, but at 67, I am no 'two-pot screamer'. Well, so much for an enjoyable catch up at Fram Ferment. I can't recall the pricing points of pints to half points, but it gave me the impression that half pints may cost more. We would have loved to stay and enjoy more beers, but for the unfathomable attitude of the barman. Pity me, indeed. Hence forth, I refer to it as 'Fram Torment', in all our discussions.

A great selection of real ales hand pulled. Fridges full of different beers. They don't serve food but they don't mind if you pop to one of the shops. They do have crisps and nuts.
