Finally, an ice cream parlour in Bath that doesn’t forget about classic gelato lovers! After feeling increasingly let down by Swoon (which has been going more and more vegan lately…), Amorino feels like a breath of fresh air. They’ve brought all the traditional Italian flavours I love: chocolate, stracciatella, hazelnut, pistachio, tiramisù, coffee… and they do them properly! The hazelnut is packed with whole nuts, the stracciatella has delicate chocolate shavings (not clunky chunks!), and the chocolate is wonderfully intense. The sauces are divine, and even the chocolate cone is excellent. Best of all, they’re generous: you can fill your cup with as many flavours as you like, in whichever size you choose — no stinginess here! Contrary to what some reviews suggest, it’s not expensive compared to other ice cream places in Bath — especially given the quality and portion sizes. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I actually like the ordering system with the touchscreen. We’re so happy Amorino has come to Bath. I already know that even in the depths of an English winter, a visit here will brighten the gloomiest day!
