The bar Marsella is the oldest establishment in Barcelona, and in the past, it was the only place where you could taste absinthe. In the bar, you can meet not only tourists but also locals who consider it their sacred duty to relax within its walls.

Marsella is also a nightclub, its doors open every night until dawn. Since its foundation, the place has not undergone a single renovation, so you can see a thick layer of nicotine on the ceiling left by previous visitors. The menu still prominently features absinthe, perfectly complementing the antique chandeliers, marble tables, and slow musical rhythms.

Il Marsella è letteralmente un pezzo di storia nel cuore del Raval. Si pensa infatti sia il bar più antico della città. È stato aperto nel 1820 ed era frequentato da importanti artisti, come Picasso, Mirò, Gaudi, Dalí e Hemingway. Il bar appare trasandato, fatiscente, lasciato a sé...e forse è proprio questo il bello. Qui è ancora possibile bere l'assenzio, un distillato ad alta gradazione alcolica all'aroma di anice,
