The Agbar Tower is located near the Placa de les Glories Catalanes. It was inaugurated by the King of Spain, becoming an unofficial symbol of the country and the city.

The tower, which has 39 floors with a total height of 142 meters, is called the "gherkin skyscraper" for its phenomenal resemblance to the London giant designed by Norman Foster. The building takes an honorable third place in terms of height in all of Barcelona, surpassed only by the Hotel Arts and the Mapfre Tower. The facade of the structure is famous for its lighting, for which more than four thousand LED devices were used, interspersed with temperature sensors that reduce electricity consumption inside.

A very enjoyable experience with great views of the whole city. We went fairly early during the day around midday and it was not crowded at all. There were very few visitors compared to Park Guell and other major attractions. The staff were friendly. It’s a shame that access to the climbing structure is charged extra money. That’s the only downside otherwise, I recommend stopping by the tower and going to the observation deck.
