I was initially unable to order the Turkish Eggs dish, Çılbır, because they were completely out of yogurt. It is unacceptable for such a busy place, early in the morning, to not have a key ingredient like yogurt (which is essential for that food). The bread for the cheese sandwich I got instead was incredibly dry—it felt like trying to swallow cardboard. The other almond brownie-style cake was equally parched, like a sahara desert. On top of that, the place where food was sold had cobwebs, a huge spider saying hello to me, sweet/syrupy stains on the floor, and ants swarming around them in a ritualistic manner. Overall, it was a very poor experience. It’s painful to see establishments like this thrive simply because they are located in a wealthy neighbourhood where people are willing to pay regardless of the quality. The lack of basic quality and preparation is astounding.
