About

The Saint-Géry Indoor Market is only nominally a market; in fact, it has long ceased any trading activities. Its building is located in the historic part of Brussels, having appeared here in the nineteenth century and remaining ever since the "unforgettable red neo-Renaissance building," as the locals call it.

Throughout its long history, Saint-Géry has changed its "purpose" multiple times, starting its rise to tourist popularity as a quaint church. Today, the market's walls host large city events, exhibitions, and even concerts. From the outside, the market building resembles a huge tomb or a religious edifice, made of brick and adorned with a round clock above the entrance.
