About

According to locals, Theater Toone has still preserved the tradition of puppet shows that have long been forgotten by others.

Once, it mocked politicians and religion, but today it entertains locals & tourists.

Each performance is conducted in French with some words in Brussels' dialect. The Toone Puppet Theatre, both outside and inside, resembles an old tavern in Spanish style with tiled floors and wooden beams on the ceiling. The theatre can also be considered the most popular beer bar in the capital, featuring a puppet workshop and a museum.

A Hidden Gem of Brussels – Charming, Quirky, and Full of Character! The Royal Puppet Theatre Toone is one of those rare places that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a forgotten part of Brussels’ soul. Tucked away in a narrow alley in the heart of the city, this tiny theatre offers an experience that’s both whimsical and deeply rooted in local tradition. The building itself is cozy and atmospheric—dimly lit, filled with old puppets, and oozing with history. You can feel the centuries of storytelling that have unfolded here. The staff at the bar is very friendly and funny. Definitely is a must visit for anyone who is visiting Brussels.
