A well-hidden secret in Bergen! ‼️ Cornerteateret might be the only place in town where you can get a fantastic vegan and gluten free burger with fries. 💚 Yes, the fries are gluten free and fried in oil where nothing else is cooked. And yes, the gluten free burger bun is also vegan! This is such great news for anyone who wants to enjoy a drink in a cool spot and have a proper meal. They offer several different burgers, and I tried the Ulriken because it comes with jalapeños (I like it spicy!). It has a soy-based patty, vegan cheese (!!!), fresh veggies, and a tasty sauce. The gluten free bun was soft and flavorful, no cardboard texture here. 🤩 The fries come with different dipping sauces, possibly all vegan, though I’m not sure about the honey one. The vegan aioli is a perfect companion to fries, which also come with a rich ketchup that doesn’t seem to come from a bottle. All in all: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’ve been missing a place that understands: 1. that vegan burgers rock, 2. that fries are only gluten free if they’re fried in dedicated oil, 3. that a gluten free bun should ideally also be vegan to cater to more people, and 4. that it’s so easy to just get vegan cheese and put it on the burger… …look no further! Cornerteateret has cracked the code. I have celiac disease and felt completely safe eating here, no issues afterwards. And if all that wasn’t enough, they’re dog friendly, too! ❤️ My two Chihuahuas joined me and got served a bowl of water. I’m crossing my fingers that they have a cozy indoor seating area for the colder months where furry babies will also be welcome. 🙏
