About

Concertgebouw is one of the most famous concert halls in the world, located on Museum Square in Amsterdam. Its architecture is astonishing, so thoughtfully and interestingly designed. But what's even more miraculous for visitors is the building's acoustics. Its secret has never been unraveled, and no one has been able to replicate it after it was designed by the deaf architect Adolf van Gendt, whose plasterwork wasn't even replaced during renovations. The halls are memorable for their spaciousness and the pleasant hues of luxurious gold and red, with smooth lines. The main hall can accommodate up to two thousand spectators, while the smaller one can hold up to 478 chamber music enthusiasts.

Die beste Akustik der Welt. Kein Wunder, dass dieser Saal Referenz aller Runterfunk aller Tontechnik ist. Und wunderbare, lebendige Konzerte passen perfekt dazu. Immer ein Erlebnis.

This is one of the world’s most acoustically renowned classical concert halls and a cultural icon of Amsterdam. It serves as the home of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of the Netherlands. Designed by Adolf Leonard van Gendt, the building was inspired by the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and features a blend of neoclassical and Dutch Renaissance architectural elements. Construction began in 1883 and was completed in 1886, with the official opening held in 1888. In 2013, it was granted the honorary title "Royal." The main hall is built in a shoebox shape, providing near-perfect reverberation and placing it on par with the world’s best venues, such as those in Vienna and Boston.
